Athletes

Our athletes are at the heart of Puronia. They push their limits, put our products to the test and help us continuously improve.

Through real-world feedback from training and racing, they help us develop sports nutrition that performs when it matters - without compromising on quality, ingredients or taste.

Food and the way I treat my body has always been important to me. The way I fuel affects the way I feel. Why would that be different when it comes to sports nutrition? With Puronia I know exactly what to expect, whether during a race, training, short rides or long days in the saddle, I just always find myself reaching for that natural taste and feel.

A huge reason I run with Puronia is simply my stomach. I’ve struggled with other products before, especially when consuming large amounts of carbohydrates over many hours. Being able to trust what I’m putting into my body makes a huge difference.

Puronia just feels cleaner, more natural, and simply easier to trust.

And that changes more than you’d think. Because when fueling stops being a problem, your whole run feels different. You’re more relaxed, more in control, and you can actually focus on the purpose of just running.

In a race like this I'm basically running for an entire day, and when you're out there that long, fueling is everything. The less crap I feed my gut, the longer it stays on my side. I just want to run far, feel good doing it, and for once fueling feels like it’s part of the adventure and less of a gamble.

I’m not really a spreadsheet-style runner. For me, the best fueling plan is the one you can still execute deep into a race. In ultras, everything changes constantly. Appetite, pace, terrain, emotions - so flexibility matters more than perfection. My plan is to rely mostly on gels during the race, supplemented with some solid food from aid stations as the hours add up. In long ultras, the “perfect” gel is honestly just the one you’re still able to take when your stomach and mind start pushing back, and that’s something I’ve been thinking a lot about going into this race.
